Age: Adult female
Family: Twin brother, Coricopat. Tantomile adores her brother, & he is the only one currently that can bring her out of her shell to socialize at all. Even though he is a few minutes older, she still will fuss over him & drive him crazy with mothering from time to time.
Appearance: Short furred dark calico female. Slim muscular build, blue eyes, bears a striking resemblance to her twin Coricopat
Personality: Tantomile comes across at quiet & reserved, in reality she’s very shy. Intelligent & rather bookish, she prefers to curl up & read rather than chase around. She often feels like an observer, rather than a participant in life, & sometimes longs to change that, but doesn’t know how. She does have a strong protective streak pertaining both to her tribe & the undercat so to speak. She has a great respect for life & the natural order of things-when she's not experimenting with it that is. She has an insatiable curiosity & a dry sense of humor-currently the only one she shares these aspects with is her brother.
Background: Born the younger of a set of twins, on the Isle of Mann, she was born with the sign of the witch. In times past, that would’ve meant she had to seek out a human to interact with to become a familiar, but Tantomile rebelled a little against the traditions. If she met a likely witch, she would consider it, but she didn’t see why she couldn’t try to practice witchcraft herself. When their human moved to the mainland, for school, so did she. While she is telepathic fully only with Cori-she does have the ability to ‘see’ magical forces & energies-see but not interact.
Even on the Isle of Mann, she began collecting old human tomes, searching thirstily for knowledge. She often will experiment with spells that she finds, unfortunately, her desires currently outstrip her abilities, & it rarely works. She has also discovered many human magic users either, A. didn’t know what the Cat they were doing, with most successes being made by accident & B they always left something important out if they did know what they were doing.
Her den, which also houses her magical workroom, is filled with books, scrolls, papers & miscellaneous magical ‘stuff‘. Much to Cori‘s probable annoyance, it‘s often filled with odd smells & even odder things.
She was with Cori, when he felt Jemima’s magic. Willingly, she followed him to the Junkyard, intrigued & happy to be with other cats again, besides her human was getting suspicious of her experiments anyway. Then she saw Him-a handsome black & white tuxedo cat just blossoming with power. Fascinated she started watching him, wondering when that power would manifest. . .
Roleplaying Sample: Tantomile looked at the mess in her workroom with dismay. Cat-she thought she had the mixture right this time. Obviously not. Within her small cauldron there was now a nasty smell of old pollicle fur & burnt fish. How did that happen?? She adjusted her small round, metal-framed glasses on her nose again & dived back into the book. Maybe it was the substitution of tuna for the narwhal tusk?
Blast, the book didn’t say. She looked up speculatively, maybe Cori would go on another procurement run for her?
Powers:
Telepathic/Empathic link-she is connected to her brother Cori with a one-way link. He is the only person she can connect to this way & she always knows how he is & what he's doing. The downside is that she has to actively fight to keep him out. She has no secrets from him-and not by her choice either. This can be a serious distraction, especially when he's occupied with something or. . someone.
Sight: Tantomile can 'see' things that others can't, like spirits or mystical/magical energies. The downside, she can see it, but not interact with it. This drives her wild to find out what it is & how it works or in the case of a spirit, who it is & why they haven't moved on.
Manipulate magic: Tantomile can perform ritual magics, (she much prefers white magic) The difficulty lies in the fact that this type of magic tends to be slow, requires a lot of preperation & spell components. While not entirely useless in battle, it is too easy to disrupt & sometimes the results can be unpredictable. She never actually knows when a spell is going to work they way she wants it too or if it will work at all. If a spell doesn't work it can have a random effect that is either comical, or sometimes painful for someone. If it does work, it can drain her energy, sometimes to unconciousness.
Comments: Tantomile is both a natural magical cat & a learned one. Not all of her abilities work just the way she would like them too. She can read human in several languages, including Latin & is an avid scholar. She's not in love with him, but she's is fascinated with Mr Mistofolees.
