1. Respect
a. Bullying behavior of any kind OOC (Out of Character) will not be tolerated, & can result in a player being barred from the board.
b. Bullying behavior can be tolerated in a thread as long as it's not meant to target another player or to advance some kind of real life belief or political agenda. This site is for fun & a break from reality. If anyone has any problems in this area, please PM an Administrator right away.
2. Language & Grammar
a. We're not English teachers, but unless it's deliberate for your character, please try to use full sentences & real words within the thread. Please avoid slang & text abbreviations like u for you, or w/ for with. Don't worry, misspellings & typos happen, you aren't going to get into trouble over that.
b. profane language. Inside or outside the thread, please avoid using common swear words. An occasional lapse is one thing, but a habitual problem could cause a player to be barred from the site. If you must use a swear word, write it like this: F*** or in a another way that is not explicit.
c. Sexual Content: OK threads can get pretty steamy & that's fine, but please do not use explicit descriptions of a sexual act or sexual part as some players may be underage. If you are an adult & you'd like to write a sexy scene with another adult, please PM an Administrator for suggestions on how or where to do this or make other arrangements with the other player(s).
d. if speaking OOC please put [brackets] of some kind around the words, for example, when leaving a thread put [Exit OC] or if a thread is [Dead].
3. God-Moding or Non-Moding
a. god-moding is when you play another character’s reaction as well as your own or when your character acts on knowledge that you know, but your character does not. Please don’t do this, as it is very rude to your fellow players & will result in your being requested to change or delete a post. If you’re not sure, please feel free to ask an Admin or your fellow player(s).
b. non-moding is when you tell another player what to do or how to play their character. Again, let your fellow players handle their own characters. You can certainly offer suggestions or advice, but please respect your fellow player’s right to RP their character.
4. Going Away
a. Most people have a life outside of the game. Things happen. If something happens in the real world that causes you to be gone for more than a week. Please let us know if you can-even if it’s a short ‘eek, I have to be gone for a week.’ We worry.
b. If you do not let us know, & have not made other arrangements & your character is in the middle of a thread, to be fair to the other players, the Administrators reserve the right to temp your characters after you, the player, have been gone for more than a week-both OCs & Canons. They will be temped until they can be removed from the thread & put into storage.
c. If you have been gone for more than a month, without making other arrangements, your OC will be put into hibernation & your Canon’s released for new applications.
