The Plot:
Generations ago, the city of Theldann faced destruction, when two forces that would one day only be known as "The Evil One" and "Purity" (And those loyal to them) entered into a bloody conflict. There were many lives lost on both sides, and eventually, with the powerful magic the mages and dryads brought together, as well as the help from other species and friends fighting alongside Purity, they were able to entrap the soul of "The Evil One", as their option to destroy it was no longer viable. Believing one day, that "The Evil One" may one day regain awareness and its soul would once again be unleashed on the world, Purity decided to sacrifice the life she could have led, to bind her own soul to The Evil One; and be reawakened along with it, if it should ever come to pass. The Evil One had a huge collection of artifacts that strengthened his powers and that of his loyal following. It was also such a tome that kept Purity and her group from being able to kill The Evil One. These artifacts, as many that they could find were taken and locked away for safe keeping; as well as the object that held its entrapped soul. This huge battle against good and evil was told for many generations, until eventually it was only told by parents to their children to scare them into behaving. The story became just that, a story, and The Evil One a Bogeyman. Until, eventually, the story became myth and then eventually dropped from all knowledge altogether. However, there were still a small handful that knew the truth and guarded and protected the Vault of the Artifacts. Waiting, preparing, and hoping the Evil One would never return.
Until recently, these few entrusted with the secret of the past, hadn't heard a peep. But that all changed when the first artifact went missing from the Vault. There have been several more thefts since the first, and though the object containing the Evil One has not been stolen yet, it is an inevitability that will come to pass. The reawakening of The Evil One and Purity is on the horizon. The small group that know the truth, are scrambling to prevent it, but Ceilidh-the Dean of Sinders Academy- only knows its a matter of time before that evil once again infects the city of Theldann. On top of that, there is unrest in the Academy that Ceilidh has to put up with. A great number of teachers and students are sick of hiding who and what they are from the humans. They believe they shouldn't have to live in shame of who they are and what they can do and feel oppressed by the magical beings that are currently in power. This Rogue faction has become a powerful force in itself, and almost overnight. The magical beings in power now, believe in control of their natural or unnatural gifts and abilities as well as in living a double life and hiding who they truly are from the rest of the world. The Rogues believe this is wrong and a charismatic and influential Vampire named James has been appointed to lead the magical creatures and community into the "New" era.
With so much darkness in the past, a new threat looming just out of reach and a this new faction threatening to destroy everything Purity had sacrificed for as well as exposing their identities to a world that might not ever be ready for them, what hope is left? And Which side will you choose?
